If you haven’t considered yet, the iPad 2 is a great device to use in education. The second generation of the iPad was what I was waiting for ever since I heard the announcement that Apple was working on a tablet. All I could think of was all of the sci-fi movies I’ve watched that showed the great technology of working on a computer then all of a sudden you get an incoming call. This is what I hoped for, and I find it true with the iPad 2.

Now, if you think that the iPad adds nothing to education, you may want to ponder the short list below that explains why the iPad in education would be beneficial:

1. A plethora of educational apps that are available in the app store; both paid and free.
2. Students can submit assignments electronically or by iPad to iPad transfer.
3. Instead of college students meeting with their professors in the office, they could meet iPad to iPad using Facetime or Skype.
4. Professors or teachers during their lectures can project their presentations using a smartboard or by Mirror Imaging.
